2/ Help the Lymph MoveThe lymphatic system doesn't have a built-in pump like the heart, which propels blood throughout the circulatory system where it's oxygenated, filtered, and circulated. As such, to move the lymph fluid, the lymphatic system relies on the contraction and relaxation of muscles and the action of joints during body movements. The
Body Tool helps accelerate lymph flow through the vessels. Gently massage your body, moving towards the heart, paying special attention to areas like the neck, legs, and abdomen where lymph nodes are concentrated.
3/ Water, Water, and More WaterLymph fluid is comprised of 95% water and becomes thicker and less fluid when you're dehydrated. In fact, one of the most common causes of lymph congestion is dehydration. Maintain proper hydration by sipping warm purified water throughout the day to keep lymph flowing normally. You probably already know this, but we'll remind you that sugary beverages, juices, sports drinks, and alcohol add an additional metabolic burden on the body.
4/ Stress vs. MindfulnessLymph congestion is exacerbated when you experience physical and/or emotional stress, so a key factor is managing daily stressors. There are various mindfulness practices, including meditation and spending time in nature, that can help you cope with life's inevitable stresses and minimize their impact on your lymphatic system, digestion, and overall health. The ability to slow down, take pauses, and remain calm in the present moment can allow you to gain control over a situation and reduce stress.
